Sea-silk, plain knitting right, jagged edge, edge
2 lines of left stitches, small tassel, length 21 cm, diameter base about 22 cm, at the upper third slightly damaged


This cap belonged - together with the muff and the gloves – to the objects exhibited at the 1893 World Columbian Exhibition in Chicago, the second World's Fair on North American soil. Ward sold it together with other scientific objetcs for $ 95,000 to the Field Museum which was founded the same year.
