Sea-silk woven in beige linen; pattern: peacocks with vase in between, 25 x 78 cm


The item was purchased in 1933 from Konietzko, merchant in Hamburg, by the then Museum of European Ethnology in Basel (now the European Department of the Museum der Kulturen Basel). It also included a hackle, a spindle and a yarn winder for the processing of sea-silk, also from Sardinia.
