Men's gloves

Pair of men's gloves, late 18th century, I-Taranto. D-Rostock, Zoologische Sammlung, University of Rostock (MS Inventory 30)

Sea-silk, thumbs and index fingers open, lenght 24.5 cm, breadth wrist 10 cm, severely damaged


The gloves are still sewn together. Probably they are among the objects that were never worn. They were donated in 1799 to the founder of the collection, Prof. Dr. Oluf Gerhard Tychsen, by the Countess Sophia zu Stolberg from her family.
